Sturt National Park

Picture View
Sturt National Park, named after explorer Charles Sturt, offers 325,000 hectares of pure magic in the Corner Country.

From the Rolling sand dunes of the outskirts of the Strzelecki Desert in the west, to the Jump-Up country with flat-topped undulating gibber plains in the east, Sturt National Park contains an amazing variety of landscapes.

Features of the park include wide open spaces, ephemeral creeks lined with river red gums, coolabahs and gidgees and the internationally recognised wetland Lake Pinaroo. Another drawcard is the world famous dingo fence

The park has a rich explorer, pastoral and goldrush history. Red and grey kangaroos, euros, reptiles, emus and eagles and a diverse arrray of other birds, all adapted superbly to the arid zone, can be found.
