Your visit to Broken Hill is not complete without seeing the Menindee Lakes by AIR. You will see the lakes and Wetlands as well as the Darling river and the township of Menindee. Then the choice is yours - fly straight back to Broken Hill or fly over Stevens Creek Reservoir, Daydream Mine Umberumberka,Silverton,Living Sculptures,Centre of Town showing the Mining Operation.
** White Cliffs
Day trip departing 8.30 and once at White Cliffs enjoy a ground tour of the famus Opal mines and underground motels. Depart for lunch at the Tilpa Pub on the banks of the Darling River then back into the plane for a Scenic flight down the river to Menindee Lakes and then onto Broken Hill,land approx. 4.30.
** Lake Eyre
Fantastic Day trip departing 8am overflying Silverton, Umberumberka Reservoir,Border fence,Mundi Mundi plains. See the impressive Lake Frome,Arkaroola,Marree,Madigan Gulf and then southern section of Lake Eyre,Jackboot Bay,Belt Bay and land for lunch at William Creek Pub. Back in the plane we fly back to the western side of Lake Eyre then across to Cooper Creek and Birdsville Crossing,pass the Wetlands. Fly over Lake Blanche,Lake Callabonna and pass the Living Sculptures and Centre of Broken Hill, before landing at 4.30pm.
** Flinders Ranges
See the impressive ancient mountain ranges of the Flinders Ranges. Departing Broken Hill 10am you will fly over Silverton, Umberumbererk Reservoir,Mundi Mundi Plains on our way to the famous Wilpena Pound.We will fly pass the unique rock formation of the"Great Wall of China"and Blinman.Then onto Leigh Creek for lunch and ground tour before flying over the amazing landscape of Arkaroola. On our return trip you will see the Salt Lake of Lake Frome, old Daydream mIne, Desert Sculptures, and Mining operations of Broken Hill, landing at 4pm.
** Mungo National Park
Departing Broken Hill at 10am we fly over Menindee Lakes before landing at Menindee for Lunch at the last watering hole for Burke and Wills, Maidens Hotel. Back in the plane we follow the Darling river south to the old Port town of Poncarrie, then onto Mungo National Park for a low level scenic flight. After enjoying a magnificient meal, and relaxing night at the Mungo Lodge we experience a ground tour of the Park before returning to Broken Hill via Silverton, Umberumberka Reservoir, Living Sculptures and the mining operations of town, landing approx. 4pm.

The rain has bought life to the outback. Broken Hill has never looked so green. To see every dam full, as we fly over, is an unusual site. Menindee lakes is spectactular - with its flooding banks.

At Wentworth (where the Darling flows into the Murray River) the town is expecting minor flooding with water coming from both the Queensland and Victorian floods.

The sheer size of the Mighty Murray River is remarkable . This amount of flooding has not been seen for decades, and it is being said to be a once in a lifetime event.
